My Story
IMG_9024.jpeg

I truly believe that peace begins with birth. How we birth our babies and how women are treated in this sacred space births our world. I support peaceful birth. I support free birth. I support a woman's choice to birth how and where she would like to.

I believe that a woman is to be cared for in her pregnancy, birth, and postpartum sacred window with sweet intention, tender care, and loving presence.

I believe that the way we treat the women who are bringing new life in to the world is of utmost importance. I believe it is a woman's right to be cared for and supported in this time, and every woman needs and deserves this to heal.

As long as I can remember, I have been fascinated with birth, babies, and new life. My mother loves telling the story of how certain I was at the age of 5 that I wanted to be a nurse that cared for babies after they were born.

I have gone on to study pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and babies for all of my adult life. When I was 20 years old, I started to learn more about natural birth, home birth, midwifery, and the vast options that women had when it came to how and where they wished to birth their babies. I went to a doula training, and I studied pre-nursing working towards becoming a nurse midwife. Shortly after, I became pregnant with my first son. This pregnancy was such a gift to me as it took me straight in to the world of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. The challenges, sweetness, and truth that came through to me in my birth left me changed on such a deep level, and I felt the power that is in a woman when she is allowed to birth her baby freely. I had a very different but equally transforming experience birthing my second son.

After I birthed my babies, the unexpected came, the postpartum period. It was a very intense and transformational period for me. I later learned through Ayurvedic studies that this sacred window is such a vital part of the experience, and it holds profound wisdom and transformation when the woman is cared for properly. I am very passionate about supporting women in this postpartum period as I feel that it is crucial for the health of the baby, her family, and humanity as a whole.

I have taken all of this inspiration and love from my experiences, and I feel it is my deep calling to work with women in these ways. I have gone on to study Ayurvedic prenatal and postpartum care, holistic birth work, prenatal and postpartum yoga, spirit baby communication, and all things women.

Love & Support

"My experience with Kelsey’s care is truly the essence of the Mother Mothering a Mother. Her loving presence and healing touch offered me a beautiful foundation of caring for myself within the newness of being a first time Mom. The food she prepared with so much intention and love was exceptional! So nourishing and delicious, not just for myself but for my partner as well. Honestly it was the best choice I made as a new Mother to hire her. I recommend her services whole heartedly to all Mothers who just gave birth!"

"Kelsey was an amazing resource to have after I had my baby. She put together an herbal postpartum support package and several home cooked meals for our family. The food and the herbal products were all made with love and attention, and were delicious and deeply nourishing. I felt so cared for and supported, and the food and herbs helped my body to regain a sense of balance after the wild ride of childbirth. I wish every woman had access to this kind of care postpartum!"
